It’s been a bit of a crazy week, so only time for a quick blog today, but this is a perfect activity to do with kids on one of those rainy days, or when it’s just too steamy outside to face the sun. A cooking class at Totts isn’t a cheap activity, but it’s a lot of fun, and there are some more cost effective options if you want to give it a go. Totts is Located at 896 Dunearn Road (01-01A) Singapore 589472, and the store is open Monday to Friday 11.00am to 9.00pm, and Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays from 10:00am to 9:00pm – maybe one for this coming public holiday?

It is recommended you book in advance (62197077) and there are two options to consider. Enroll in one of its pucker cooking classes – which look amazing but are not cheap – or book in for the quicker ‘Bake & Go’ classes, which is what we did. Costing $12.80/cookie dough tin, I bought two for the boys, and with that price you get decorations – of the hundreds & thousands variety – or pay a little extra for something more extravagant. It’s booked as a 30 minute slot, however I know we were in there a lot longer than that. Also, while we eventually got some cookies baking in the oven, most of it went in the boys’ mouths long before. They loved it. There’s not much to it – you take the dough, make shapes, decorate the cookies and you’re done.

Once your cookies are baking, head off to the cafe for a bite to eat or a drink, and you’ll find a playground perfect for smaller kids – no older than six I reckon. The coffee is not good, and there isn’t too much great food to choose from in my opinion – which is a shame considering it’s a cooking place – but if you’re with good friends, this is a nice part of the experience. It’s definitely a great activity to do as a group, and your cookies will be delivered to your table once cooked.

I have to warn you. The shop is AMAZING! If you need anything to do with cooking or baking and were not aware of Tott’s existence, this is THE place to go in Singapore for anyone who loves getting in the kitchen. Everything is here – and I mean everything – and the quality is superb. I was unable to escape without making a purchase. Oh well, Steve was only cranky for five minutes.

As an experience with kids, one to add to the adventure list when it suits. I’ll take the boys again for sure.

Cheers
