If you’re looking for something different and exciting this weekend (May 26th & 27th) the Singapore Army is holding its first ever inner City Army Open House (AOH) on Saturday and Sunday at the F1 Pit Building.

The article on page 15 of Pioneer Magazine (available for free at all Starbucks outlets) gives you a good idea what to expect.

In short, it looks like every little boys’ dream weekend featuring parachute displays, military bands, a “Kidz Bootcamp”, attack helicopter displays, rides around the bay on the latest amphibious landing craft and assault boats, a climbing wall, carnival area, kids play area, rides in infantry carriers, static displays, virtual shooting games and dynamic shows at 10am and 4pm.

We actually had an accidental sneak peak last week while walking in the Gardens by the Bay (East) and watched them rehearsing from the other side of the river – which was all good until a poor Duck Tour boat strayed into the middle… Jax also wasn’t a fan when the tanks started unloading on make-believe baddies.

More details and a full agenda can be found at this link or on page 15 of Pioneer magazine (head to your nearest Starbucks).

See you there!

PS: thanks to our mate Deb who snapped this photo of a poster at a bus stop this morning.
